Ed Holland of Monster Attack Team

Edward L. Holland is a contributing writer for Famous Monsters of Filmland and Captain of the Monster Attack Team, a Japanese live action magazine based in Texas and California, which he started with makeup artist and co-founder Joe Riley back in 1991. As a grade school student, Edward’s fascination with Japanese monsters, superheroes and rock and roll culture eventually morphed into MAT the fanzine and a highly regarded cable access program. Starting in 2010, the magazine was distributed through Diamond Comics and sold throughout the United States. He has visited Toho Studios, Tsuburaya Productions, the sets of ULTRAMAN POWERED, the first season of POWER RANGERS before they aired and has interviewed actors and production staff from the worlds of Godzilla including legendary GODZILLA suit actor, Haruo Nakajima, special effects director Koichi Kawakita, Hiroyuki Watanabe from GAMERA, Takeshi Sasaki from KAMEN RIDER, Ban Daisuke from KIKAIDA and INAZUMAN, the explosive director and actor Tak Sakaguchi, the music icons Yoshiki of X-Japan, and the unearthly band of SEIKIMA II. Edward has a degree in film and television studies from U.N.T., a certification in paralegal studies from R.W.U., plays a mean set of drums, collects Japanese soundtracks, and is a full-time father and military veteran. He is also an advocate of the victims of the Japan 2011 earthquake and tsunami and continues to donate to this worthy cause.
