Meet M.G. “Mike” Keller of MAT
M.G. “Mike” Keller is a by-product of southern angst and northern anxiety. A transplanted New Jerseyan, he has been interested in guys in rubber suits long before Pulp Fiction made them awkward. He hooked up with Edward Holland and the original incarnation of Monster Attack Team back in the 1990s, helping out with the magazine and occasional other aspects of the club until it went into a sleep chamber. He fueled the resurrection of the magazine in 2010, and has been writing about movies and television shows where things blow up ever since.
Mike is responsible for most of the MAT graphic design, including magazine layout, web design, advertising and collateral. He is employed full time by an award winning north Texas graphics agency, and has received three American Graphic Design awards in the time that he’s worked there. His artwork has appeared in local shows and he’s taught graphic design at a community college. He wrote and directed the short film THE BIG TIP, which was nominated for numerous awards at the Fort Worth Film Festival and has appeared on the ‘reality’ show AN EYE FOR AN EYE. Other groups he has been involved with include North Texas Skeptics, The DFW Herpetological Society, and The North Texas Professional Writers Association. He is pleased to be returning to AKON for the fourth time in a row, and not just because of all the skin bearing cosplay girls that show up to this event.
