Congrats to the mascot winner, Kimberly Chambers Bost (aka, Faery Punk).
Here are the exciting guests that will be taking part in DollAKon.
DeAnne Stefanic is a full-time graphic artist who bought her first BJD in May of 2008, planning to use him as a drawing model. One doll.
That lasted less than a month. Her second doll arrived in June and she never looked back. She figured since she has an art degree and can draw a little she’d enjoy doing faceups. Easier said than done! DeAnne searched for and finally found a face-up style to call her own, as well as the skills to do additive and subtractive mods, tattoos, and scarring. She loves doing face-up work and is thrilled to have the chance to help others learn to do them at A-Kon. Visit
paintitblackstudio.blogspot.com to view her work or for information on commissions.
DeAnne’s free time is usually spend finding ways to rid herself of free time by inventing crazy projects involving drawing, painting, writing and, of course, dolls. She has an ongoing comic starring the characters she bought her first dolls to represent, and is involved in the indie art and craft scene in her area
She currently lives in the Saint Louis area with a crotchety cat, a spastic dog and an army of dolls named Alex.
Catherine E. Hajek-Harris (better known as Kiki to her friends and on her website) was born and raised in Puerto Rico. With less than a year left to go on her Fine Arts degree from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez, she transferred to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) to study Illustration and then Comic Art.
In 2011 Kiki graduated with her degree. It was while studying in Minneapolis that she had her first brush with Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls, and was able to purchase one with the intent of using it as a reference for her art. Instead, that first BJD became Omi.. soon after followed Seiki, then Erik and after him several others; the first three eventually became the main inspiration behind her online comic, Acrylic Eyes.
Kiki currently lives in Puerto Rico and works from her home studio as both a freelance artist and doll customizer. In 2012 Kiki started her own doll line called ‘Sweet Dolls’.
Sarah B. Seiter is the founder of The Mushroom Peddler, a company that features the whimsical ball-jointed dolls she creates. Sarah has always loved dolls and after collecting them from several companies, she decided to try her hand at sculpting. Her first doll was Shelly the Turtle who was a big success and now she had created many unique sculpts to share with the BJD community.
Sarah lives nestled in a valley surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Utah with her supportive husband, three mischievous children, and a very amusing spotted gecko.
