Want to have a free artist alley table at a fun and awesome anime convention? Well here is your chance! With our big move to a bigger and better space for 2014’s Mini A-Kon VII, we wanted to share the love and give one lucky artist the chance to have their own Artist Alley table at the Convention.
So how do you win? It’s a simple two part step. First you need to draw your version of the Mini A-Kon Mascot (originally designed by Kristen McGuire). Here are some pictures of her and below is some brief background of the character.
”In the magical land of Bibliotheque, books and stories actually come alive and interact with the readers and each other. It’s up to the Last Librarian of Bibliotheque, the young teenager Juli Reader to make sure that the stories behave themselves and don’t run amuck.”
2nd Step is to write an essay on why you feel you should get a free artist alley table. The essay can be as serious or creative as you want. Both parts will be equally measured in determining the winner.
The contest opens Oct. 1st and entries will be accepted through midnight of Oct 31st. The winner will be announced on Nov. 16th, at the International Games Day at the North Branch of the Denton Public Library (and then soon after on the internet).
So, everyone get to sharpening your pencils and cleaning your brushes. It’s time to show off your art so you may show off even more of your art at Mini A-Kon VII.
Fine Print – Any and all entries may be used or displayed in order to promote Mini A-Kon and any other A-Kon related events. Attribution will be given to those creators.
Also, this is a family-friendly, library hosted event, so entries need to be PG-13. We reserve the right to decline entries based on inappropriateness.
All images need to be scalable, at least 300 dpi, and 8.5 x 11” in size. Images must be sent in a common image format (TIFF, JPEG, GIF, BMP) etc.
Send all entries to firstname.lastname@example.org. If file size is too large for an e-mail attachment, then please provide a link to the image online.
