A-Kon® has over 14,000 sq ft dedicated to electronic gaming. Our console stations are open 24 hours to ensure you will always have something to do!

Whether you want to play the hottest games on the PS4, XBox One, or WiiU, or enjoy some throwback time playing retro ones. Then there's JS Joust, a DS Hangout so you can enjoy the company of other gamers, and we have Tournaments running daily, as well as the fully immersive VG Corps Battlepods

A-Kon Pokemon Challenge 2016

Sign ups will start at 8 AM Friday.
Must be present in person to sign-up. You can only sign yourself up, no proxy.
Gym Leaders will be stationed from 11AM-9PM Friday
Elite 4 Battles will start at 10am Saturday.
Tournament will start at 7pm Saturday (may vary slighty based depending on how long the Elite 4 take to compete with all eligible participants)
Champion will start whenever the tournament ends.

Battle Format:

All gym leaders matches will be played in the Doubles format
The Elite 4 will be split into two groups. Doubles and Singles format.
Tournament and Champion will be Single Battle Format.
Flat Battle Rule: Pokemon above Level 50 will be brought down to 50 the match, while those below 50 will stay as is
Team Preview Rule: Players can have up to 6 Pokemon in their party and choose 4 during Team Preview. In the case of the Singles Elite 4 members you will choose 6 Pokemon.
Pentagon Rule: All Pokemon must have the blue pentagon on their stats page indicating they were caught, bred, or received as an official gift in Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire
Time Clause: Gym leader battles will last 15 minutes (25 for Elite 4 and Tournament), at which time the winner will be decided by whoever has the most active pokemon remaining. In case of a tie the next person to have a pokemon faint will be considered the loser.
Species Clause: No two Pokemon on your team can share the same Pokedex number
Item Clause: No two Pokemon on your team can hold the same item

Elite 4, Tournament and Champion Specifics

Elite 4
To challenge the Elite 4, you must collect 6 of the 10 badges. Duplicate badges will still only count as 1 badge.
You only need to defeat one member of the Elite 4 to proceed to the Tournament.
Double Elimination

Single Elimination

The winner of the Tournament will face the Champion from last year.
No Time Limit
If the previous Champion cannot attend then the winner of the tournament will be our new Champion.

Console Gaming Notices

  • A-Kon® Badge required for entry into the Venue
  • When using an A-Kon® owned controller, please note that a valid government issue ID is required per controller and will be held by A-Kon® until the equipment is returned.
  • All bags will be subject to search when leaving the Console Gaming Room.
