Harassment Policy

A-KonĀ® is dedicated to providing a harassment and violence-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body type, race, age, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. A-KonĀ® participants (including internal staff, exhibitors, vendors, etc.) violating these rules may be subject to various penalties up to, and including, expulsion from the convention without refund, at the discretion of the convention organizers.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to, verbal comments that can be viewed as threatening, demeaning, or belittling, or that enforce negative stereotypes, or bring negative attention related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance body size, race, age, or religion.

Harassment can also be defined as deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, unsolicited or unwanted photography or recording, sustained disruption of panels or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior, including unsolicited or unwanted photography or recording, are expected to comply immediately.

If a person engages in harassing or violent behavior, the convention organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender, expelling the offender from the event without refund, and/or contacting local law enforcement. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of A-Kon staff immediately.

A-Kon staff will be happy to provide whatever assistance we can to help participants contact appropriate management and/or local law enforcement.
