Helen McCarthy returns
British writer Helen McCarthy has been speaking in some hot new venues – she enjoyed a trip to School Girls & Mobile Suits in Minneapolis and is scheduled to speak at Akita International University in Japan in Spring 2008. She’s also completed a new book for British publisher Ilex Press and is working on a new title for Stone Bridge Press which she hopes to be able to announce at A-Kon. Her successful lecture series on anime continues until the summer break at London’s Barbican Centre, and she’s very excited to be curating and presenting their tribute to Osamu Tezuka. Her first novel is still unpublished but she won’t give up until it’s been rejected by every agent she can find.
Helen’s published work includes The Anime Encyclopedia, Hayao Miyazaki: Master of Japanese Animation and 500 Manga Heroes and Villains. COMING IN SUMMER 2008: 500 ESSENTIAL ANIME YOU MUST OWN, from Ilex Press.
