Sun Quartet – Dallas performs for A-Kon® 19
Sun Quartet Entertainment is please to announce that their Dallas, Texas string quartet ensemble is performing at this year’s A-Kon® Banquet with the Stars. A-Kon® is the nation’s longest-running anime (Japanese animation) convention, and also one of the largest, with over 10,000 attendees last year.
The Dallas group is comprised of professional string musicians who perform throughout the North Texas region for weddings, parties, banquets, concerts, and other special events. In the last five years of its existence, it has played for hundreds of clients, including WRR Classical 101.1 radio, Bride TV, ARTSnet, and Charles Schwab. The quartet has performed three times previously for the banquet, and is honored to perform again for the fans and guest stars of the convention.
They will be performing selections of contemporary music from anime, representing diverse works spanning several decades of Japanese TV and film. The music has been arranged for the quartet by Mark Ross, a composer from Kansas and an anime fan, and Mark Arthur, President and Artistic director of Sun Quartet Entertainment. Mark has also been a volunteer with the A-Kon® video-staff for eleven years, and has performed on the viola with the quartet at past banquets.
About the company:
Sun Quartet Entertainment is a music company that provides string ensemble performances for special events, and creates related audio, video, and print media products. We have been in business since 2001, and currently have three string quartet ensembles based in Dallas, Carrollton, and Frisco, Texas which are available for booking musical events. The Sun Quartet name is an homage to Franz Joseph Haydn's Op. 20 collection of string quartets composed in 1772. The quartets were named the "sun quartets" after the title-page design of the first printed edition in 1774. We perform a wide variety of music styles. Our repertoire includes selections from the great masters of Classical music to selections from Broadway, the Movies, Latin, and Pop music. String music adds a distinctive ambiance of elegance and class to your event.
