There's plenty of variety available when it comes to eating out in downtown Dallas. Not only is there the food available in the Adam's Mark and the Plaza of the Americas, but there's a lot of restaurants to choose from in the western half of downtown, as well as a few attractions you might want to check out (like the Dallas Museum of Art, or Hard Rock Cafe). The areas listed here give a general view of what you might find while wandering around the downtown area, as well as a link to a site that has a virtual map of downtown.

Places to grab some food that can be found off of some of the DART light rail stops include:

Here's a listing of all the restaurants that are in the West End:

There are many places to eat and clubs to go to in Deep Ellum, a two minute drive from the hotel (or five minute walk), but all I can think of at the moment are places like the The Church/Lounge Lizard, and Cafe Brazil. Been too long since I've cruised through there and looked around.

Here's a few more places of note that can be found downtown:

*The Dallas Museum of Art (three blocks from the hotel on Ross Avenue)
*Tiki Bob's (McKinney & N. Lamar)
*Have A Nice Day Cafe (N. Lamar)
*CVS Pharmacy (Lamar & Ross)
*24 hour drive-thru McDonald's (on Commerce, between Lamar & Griffin)

A good site to find information on the restaurants and stores listed above is Guidelive.com.

And here's a fairly decent site that has a virtual map of downtown Dallas:

Downtown Dallas Virtual Map

Click on one of the red dots on the map to see some of the following places:

Bryan @ Olive - walkway to the Plaza of the Americas (black building beyond the skywalk, first thing you see when the virtual picture loads), north side of the hotel, walkway that connects the hotel with the convention space, the hotel convention center, little park underneath the Plaza/Adam's mark walkway

Bryan @ St. Paul - the St. Paul DART light rail stop (where the moon and the clock are), the post office across the street, hotel would be to the right (but out of view) as you're looking at the picture.

Olive @ San Jacinto - first thing you see: red building on the left is the San Jacinto tower....the street is San Jacinto, heading north (one-way)....the other building (two black towers on the end, a grey building in the middle) is the front view of the Plaza of the Americas, with the Westin City Center hotel as the grey building) Turn farther to the right, and the tall building in the distance is the Adam's Mark.
Pacific @ Akard - more light rail tracks, and the Akard station to the left

Griffin @ Pacific - Turn right and past the orange clock is the West End light rail station. The brick building on that same side is part of the West End district - Corner Bakery is located there. If you turn back left, you'll see the Hampton Inn (brown building), the bottom half of the Bank of America building (tallest building in downtown with 60+ floors), and right next to that tall red and white antenna is the West End's bus station. Behind that is the Channel 4 (Fox) building. Griffin @ Patterson lets you see the Channel 4 building better, as well as the mural with the little boy pulling a wagon full of toy cars (as of now that's been covered with one of those building sized billboards.)

Corbin @ Market - The building across the street with the red and white awning is TGI Fridays...the one with the red awning and table umbrellas is now Atomic Sushi. If you pan to the right when the picture comes up, you'll see the Cadillac Bar across the street on the right, and the brick building further down on the left is the Spaghetti Warehouse. On The Border is behind Atomic Sushi.

Crowdus @ Elm shows a shot of Deep Ellum...Deep Ellum is primarily located east of 75, on Elm street (one way headed west), Main street (goes both ways), and Commerce street (one way headed east).

This map is great because it actually shows pictures of downtown, but not all the links work, and it doesn't show more in depth detail of West End and Deep Ellum. But at least it's a start!

We will update this from time to time to get you more accurate information.
