“Let’s fight monsters, let’s really fight!”
Edward L. Holland
Edward launched MAT with Joe Riley as a fan club and it quickly sprang into a local cable access program in Dallas, Texas in the early 90’s. The show and fanzine developed into a fan favorite of many tokusatsu junkies across America and spread overseas. His contributions to the genre exposed many to shows, films and music not readily available in the southwest. A fan of Japanese culture since a child his appreciation for their productions continues to grow. He has been on the set of Toho Studios, Tsuburaya Productions’ Ultraman Powered, and Saban’s Power Rangers. After MAT #7 the magazine took a hiatus as he concentrated on his biggest addiction – drums, percussion and supporting our nation. While living in Japan he performed with various musicians live, in studios, and on military vessels. His folk/electric group, Monster Island Plus is currently mixing their first full-length cd and he also works as a U.S. government paralegal in Southern California. Finally, he is Editor-in-Chief of MAT #8, a 132 page full-color magazine on Japanese monsters, heroes and sci-fi produced deep in the heart of Dallas.
M.G. Keller
Mike was a contributor to MAT throughout its original run and associate editor for part of that time. He has also written fan articles and produced artwork for G-Fan, Kaiju Review and Oriental Cinema. His 2000 short film The Big Tip was nominated for several awards at the Fort Worth Film Festival. Some of his original fiction has been published, and some of his original art has appeared in local exhibitions. He is currently employed as a graphic designer; and is writing, directing and animating the short film Blind Spectre, due to be finished by Halloween of 2010. He lives and works with three reptiles in Addison, Texas.
