A Scavenger Hunt is a single or team effort to locate things on a list and return them to a common Judging Area for points.  The three teams with the highest amount of points at the final Judging will be awarded prizes.  The ScavHunt Lists will be available no earlier than 9AM on Friday and are available at the ScavHunt Desk on the Convention Level of the hotel.  The 4 Judging Times are listed in Da Rulz below and the Judging Place is the ScavHunt Desk.  Bring your items there to be Judged ONLY at the appropriate times.  If you get more items after your initial Judging, please bring them to a later session.  Points will only be awarded at a posted Judging time, and no amount of bribery will change that.

Da Rulz for A-Kon 23

1. Teams may be comprised of no more than four members, all of whom must be badge-holders (Kon-goers, guests, dealers, volunteers, etc.).
2. All items must be obtained legally, and if borrowed must be promptly returned to their proper owner.  A-Kon, the hotel, and ScavHunt staff assume no responsibility.
3. Interpretation of Da Rulz is up to the Judges, as is interpretation of just what is meant by each and every item on Da List.  The Judges’ determinations are final and there is no appeal.  Determinations may be altered by bribery, but only if it is attempted at a Judging time.  Annoy the Judges and you may lose points. 
4. Hotel and Konvention business must not be disrupted.  Such is grounds for disqualification from the contest and/or expulsion from the Kon.  Any people or property damage is your bag, baby.
5. The Judges may be bribed.  Food and other enticements are allowed.  What constitutes valid bribery is up to the Judges.  Bribery is encouraged.  Bribery, both to Judges and to other parties, though all forms are generally encouraged, MUST be of a legal sort that won’t cause the Da Man to become annoyed with A-Kon, the hotel, or Kon workers.
6. There is no Rule #6.  See if you can find it.
7. Certain items are inside jokes of the Kon workers and are relevant to the history of the Kon.  If you don’t know, ask, and you might get the truth.  Kon and hotel workers are in no way required to assist or abet your efforts in the hunt, and they are allowed to falsify their answers when queried.  They like to be bribed as well, but even when bribed the workers might still fib.  Caveat particeps. 
8. Kon Gods and Goddesses may intervene on your behalf, but beware their wrath.  They, too, like to be bribed.
9. Drink plenty of water.  Bathe with soap and hot water.
10. These are the Judging Times:

Friday: Noon-2pm and 5-7pm
Saturday: 11am-1pm and 4pm-7pm

No one will be allowed to enter the line after the cutoff time.

Awards will be given out at Cosplay Halftime, or they may be picked up at the Info Desk after 11am Sunday.  WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT AT LEAST ONE TEAM MEMBER BE PRESENT TO ACCEPT THE AWARDS (IF ANY).
