Parking & Transportation

Fair Park – Parking

1300 Robert B Cullum Blvd, Dallas, TX 75210

A-Kon attendees can park in the Fair Park fenced-in lots 2, 5, and 6 for $10 per day.

Helpful Tip: Lot 5 and Lot 6 are closer to the entry gates than the majority of the Lot 2 spaces. We recommend you try to park in Lot 5 and 6 before attempting to park in Lot 2. However, for those that do end up parking a ways out we will be providing complimentary parking trams to help you get too and from the gates without having to walk to far in the heat.

*Please note: Tailgating is not permitted in the Fair Park parking lots, and coolers will not be allowed past the security entrance without a valid medical reason.

Southside Ballroom – Parking

1135 S Lamar St Ste 101, Dallas, TX 75215
Parking: Free until 8pm and then $5 self parking
No valet available

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema – Parking

1005 S Lamar St, Dallas, TX 75215
Parking: Free on a first come first serve basis.

*Please note: Parking at this venue is very limited, but the two A-Kon After Hours venues (Southside Ballroom & Alamo Drafthouse) are down the street from one another, about a 3 minutes walk. If parking is no longer available here, you may park at the Soutside Ballroom back lot which is close by.

A-Kon Shuttles

Worried about how you’re going to get back and forth to Fair Park and your hotel? Hotels for Hope let us know where the majority of you are staying, and we will be providing a shuttle service that travels between the most booked hotels, Fair Park, and our After Hours venues (when they are open).

A-Kon 2019 Shuttle Schedule

Thursday, June 27th

Friday, June 28th & Saturday, June 29th

Sunday, June 30th

Shuttle service is provided by A-Kon as a complimentary service and is on a limited, first come first serve basis until seats are full. Shuttles should make stops every 10 – 30 minutes depending on traffic and loading times, so if you miss one there will be another shortly after. Please be kind and allow those with ADA needs to board first!

Please be aware that you may have to wait for an available shuttle seat, so please plan accordingly and if you have a tight schedule consider driving or ride sharing instead!

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit system, the DART, is a network of rail, bus, paratransit and rideshare services around the city that helps people get where they need to go! Fair Park, the A-Kon 2019 venue, has a DART station on the premises that you can use throughout the weekend.

You can view the full system map here.

How to Navigate the DART System to get to Fair Park Station

DART RAIL and buses will be running and open during standard operating hours all weekend. Please use the DART website for up-to-date hours of operation information if you need it.

Please use the map below from DART to help you plan and navigate your travel during A-Kon 2019! If you are ever unsure or confused about which route to take, there will be DART personnel at each station (look for the DART vests to find them) to help travelers between routes.

Ride Sharing

For those of you who use Uber, Lyft, Yellow Cab, or other ride sharing services, there is a designated loading and unloading zone where you can find your ride! Tell your driver to take you to or pick you up at 3601 Parry Ave (in front of Craft and Growler). This loading / unloading zone is directly across the street from Fair Park’s main entrance on Parry.
